We won again! 18 year later JK Narva Trans finally reclaimed its right to be the worthy holder of Estonian Cup in a thriller match against Nõmme Kalju FC.
Last time the red-and-white team managed to win the Cup in the distant 2001, when JK Narva Trans outplayed FC Flora of Tallinn in extra-time by a single goal. This time around it also came down to extra 30 minutes to define the rightful champion.
The match started off well for Narva team and already on the 10. minute they could have opened the score only for Roman Nesterovski to send the ball into the post from a penalty spot. By the middle of the first half Nõmme Kalju FC was leading the game and already managed to open the score, however, in the last minutes of the first half yet another penalty was given to Trans and this time around there was no way Zaka would have missed. The fate of the match was decided in the extra 30 minutes when Viktor Plotnikov performed an acrobatic scissor strike into the back of Nõmme Kalju’s net.
What a day! What a legendary win!
